Emmeline Grouse lives in a small town in Hallow County, in a house overlooking an abandoned cemetery where she and her sister Lucy would often play. Adapted from the comic art novel, SWELL explores the memory-shifting and kaleidoscopic journey of grief, immersing the audience in a lush visual landscape as Emmeline confronts her fears, dreams and imagination.

This theatre combines the comix’ narrative in the languages of sound, video, architecture, and performance art, resulting in a spectacular, character-driven reflection of loss.
